Opening New Dimensions for Spare Parts Catalogs

For the first time, the new 2018 version of CATALOGcreator® was presented to a wide audience in May 2017 on the occasion of cDAY 2017. The CATALOGcreator® software is today’s technology leader for electronic spare parts catalogs. Using this software, you can generate – manually or automatically – 2D and 3D spare parts catalogs based on part lists from your ERP or PLM system and publish them at the push of a button, along with additional information. More than 340 renowned customers from machinery and plant engineering, automotive, medical technology, and agricultural machinery, make use of TID Informatik’s industry expertise. The new 2018 version of CATALOGcreator® impresses our customers through its manifold new features.

New Software Generation

With its 2015 version of CATALOGcreator®, TID had launched a software product for electronic spare parts catalogs that had undergone a complete redesign and redevelopment based on state-of-the-art technology, and has since been deployed in many customer projects. Upon its introduction, version 2015 belonged to a new software generation that would revolutionize the market for electronic spare parts catalogs. Version 2018 builds on this state-of-the-art technology and contains many new features as additional benefits for its users. This new version excels in terms of an innovative office-design application and a modular design ensuring the flexibility and functional extensibility of the software. CATALOGcreator® 2018 is the result of continuous refinement over the last two years. Its existing functionality has experienced numerous optimizations and improvements. But it is the new features in CATALOGcreator® and ExportDynamic, the web interface of the electronic catalog, that make the 2018 version a true highlight in its own right. Note that customers who already work with CATALOGcreator® may update to the 2018 version with minor effort.

Sales Growth in Service

No matter if you use PDFs, the HTML version for offline and online applications, or any mobile device: the intuitive catalogs can be integrated with web shops and may be connected to servicing and maintenance systems. With CATALOGcreator®, companies benefit from a professional web presence, straightforward spare parts ordering for partners and customers and, hence, experience a growth of their after-sales business and a sharp decline of their false-order rate. CATALOGcreator® meets all requirements of a technologically advanced software for electronic spare parts catalogs and service portals.

Feedback

“Today, representative branches can search through the online catalog themselves, thus eradicating 60% of the original support required for spare parts, as inquiries no longer need to be forwarded to our Customer Service team. Those savings allow us to offset our investment in the CATALOGcreator® easily, and with 40 customer service representatives and a turnover of 132 million euros we have made back our investment in two years.” Christoph Krump, EREMA.

“It was as though we were still working with a hammer and chisel on a stone tablet. We manufacture highly innovative products, yet our spare parts catalog was stuck in the Stone Age.” Bernd Güntner, Grünbeck.

“It would be unimaginable for us to return to the way things were prior to the introduction of CATALOGcreator®. The processes used to create spare parts catalogs have been greatly streamlined since the introduction of the electronic versions.”  Jörg Hennig, KBA-Sheetfed Solutions AG & Co. KG.

“CATALOGcreator® is a tool that every company should use. We use it as an information database that brings together expert knowledge from different systems. Not everyone can use an ERP system or a CAD program, but in the electronic catalog, the information is presented in a way that allows virtually anyone to easily access all relevant and shared data. This is a tremendous added value for the entire company and our customers and Partners.” Thomas Nagel, Claudius Peters Projects GmbH
