CATALOGcreator® 2011 sets new standards!

The new 2011 version of the CATALOGcreator® software for electronic spare parts catalogs was presented for the first time at the annual tekom-meeting, from 03. – 05.11.2010.

It is not only a “Facelift”, but a complete re-design, more than living up to the expectations of CATALOGcreator® as a leader in technology.

In particular the interactive, dynamic HTML-catalog based on SQL and PHP 5, which is obviously once again identical for all media – Inter-/Intranet, CD, DVD, USB-Stick, Hard disk, PDA, etc. – saw considerable improvements with regard to the points mentioned below:

  • Performance
  • Usability
  • Attractiveness
  • Flexibility
  • Integration

Performance:

The speed of CATALOGcreator®, when creating catalogs, has always been excellent anyway. For instance a 600-page PDF-catalog with contents index, article index, bookmarks and any format changes is created within 10 seconds on an ordinary office computer. Using the same basic data to also create an interactive HTML-catalog, does not even take 25 seconds with CATALOGcreator®.cc2010_2

Now we are focusing particularly on the performance of the dynamic HTML-catalog: page lay-out and searches were optimised right down to the very last detail and the result is phenomenal: even when searching a catalog with several thousands of components, the hit lists are produced within seconds. The speed required for image generation on a dynamic HTML-page is just as fast as with static HTML pages.

Usability and attractiveness:

It is common knowledge that easy handling and an attractive catalog look are very important, if you wish to achieve broad catalog acceptance. That is exactly the reason why we have spent a lot of effort on maximising user-friendliness and attractiveness of the HTML catalogs. Use CATALOGcreator® 2011 to provide catalog users with profiles defining the functional scope and display of the catalogs, or let your users decide whether they want to be a “Standard User” or “Power User” and which catalogs, contents and functions they require. Favourite lists, freely configurable shopping basket, any additional information, filter functions similar to Google search and much more ensure that required information can be found and processed in a split second.

Flexibility and integration:

Our main goal is to supply standard software which can be adjusted easily and flexibly to meet the demands of our customers. All our customers use the same basic software, which to us implies that  the systems remain serviceable and supportable and are always ready to be updated. Nevertheless, customers still have their own individual demands, which we can quickly and economically turn into reality by using CATALOGcreator®‘s configurability. The lay-out, for instance, can virtually be changed at random using CSS-technology; its functionality can easily be configured. Nor does integration of existing systems, such as portals or webshops, require any major effort. New options available within CATALOGcreator® 2011 are the Newsletter, links to knowledge databases, a prompting system for spare parts stocks, contact lists etc. etc.
